Roofing Story

Robert Shelby, owner of Platinum Roofing, is a 4th generation roofer, continuing his family’s legacy, by providing North Georgia homeowners and businesses with time-tested and innovative roofing services. It is no surprise that Robert’s understandings of the roofing industry run deep and is more absorbed than most. Roofing runs through his blood.

 

Born in Cabbage Town and raised in Austell, Robert’s roots are planted in the North Georgia area. Robert is a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and no surprise that his logo colors are Georgia Bulldog red and black! Besides his love of roofing and football, Robert also loves to play golf and once in 2012 was a Caddy at a PGA Tournament in Sea Island, GA. In 2001, he married the love of his life Patti, a nurse practitioner, and raised three amazing kids, Amy, Dylan and Alexus. Alexus works in the Cobb County Sheriff’s Department and is hoping to become a sheriff in the near future. Both, Amy, and Dylan have taken up the family tradition and work at Platinum Roofing. Amy is the Office Manager and Dylan is out in the field providing quality roofing repairs to their customers. Robert and Patti are the proud grandparents of Brayden and “huumans" to golden retrievers, Teddy and Ollie.

 

The roofing industry has changed over the years, so it has always been a priority for Robert to keep up to date with all the new technologies and continue to find ways to improve his customer’s overall roofing experience. Robert is very active within the local roofing industry proceedings by participating in round table meetings with other business owners; networking with product representatives and manufactures; and seeks out any roofing industry occasion to turn into a learning opportunity.

 

At a very young age, Robert entered his family roofing business and learned from the best. For a brief period, Robert delivered milk for Mayfield, but missed roofing so much, he came back and dedicated the rest of his career to becoming the best roofer possible. In 2000, with great encouragement from his family, Robert decided to go off on his own and start his company, Platinum Roofing Atlanta. From day one, Platinum Roofing Atlanta stood for honesty and dependability where quality and service make a difference. Platinum Roofing Atlanta has always stood behind their quality of work and the products they use, and they execute this daily.
